1. Introduction

Lategram ("we", "our", or "us") is a location-based photo memory application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Lategram mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Phone Number

We collect your phone number to identify your account and enable contact matching. Your phone number is stored securely in our database and is used solely to match you with mutual contacts who also use Lategram.

2.2 Location Data

We collect your precise GPS location to pin photos to specific places and to notify you when you visit a location where a mutual contact has left a memory. Location is collected in the foreground when you use the App, and in the background while the App is running as a background service.

We do not share your exact location with other users — only whether you are within a 50-metre radius of a pinned memory.

2.3 Photos

Photos you capture and pin are uploaded to Cloudinary, a third-party media hosting service, and linked to your account and GPS location. Photos are visible to other Lategram users who visit the same location. Only you can download your own photos.

2.4 Contacts

We read your device contacts solely to identify mutual connections. Contact data is processed on-device and is never uploaded to our servers. We only store your phone number and use it to match against other registered users.

2.5 Device and Usage Data

We collect anonymous identifiers such as your Firebase UID and OneSignal ID to manage your account and deliver push notifications. We do not collect device model, OS version, or usage analytics at this time.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Identify your account and sign you in to the App
• Pin your photos to your GPS location in our database
• Display photos left by other users at your current location
• Match you with mutual contacts who have left memories nearby
• Send you push notifications when a mutual contact visits a location where you left a memory
• Improve the accuracy and reliability of location matching

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following third-party services that are essential to the App's functionality:

• Firebase (Google) — account authentication and database storage
• Cloudinary — photo hosting and delivery
• OneSignal — push notification delivery

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data protection practices. We encourage you to review their policies.

5. Data Retention

Your photos and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual photos at any time from within the App. To request full account deletion, please contact us at the email address below.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for background location access at any time via your device settings
• Withdraw consent for contact access at any time via your device settings

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Access to your data is protected by Firebase Authentication and security rules that restrict access to authenticated users only.

8. Children's Privacy

Lategram is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
